"The pellet burner is just as reliable as my old oil burner"

What's it like heating with pellets compared to oil?
The burner is just as reliable as an oil burner. Even in the summer when it's not on as often, there are never any problems. The first year I had it I used a weekly silo which I filled with 16 kg pellet sacks. I did miss the simplicity of oil heating then. Now that I've installed a pellet silo and the screw feed is doing my work for me, it's simple again.
The only difference to oil heating is the check I make every 3rd week in the winter and every other month in the summer.
Has your heating bill gone down?
With bulk deliveries I reckon I save SEK 8,000 a year, even with my teenage daughters starting to live in the shower!
Do the bulk deliveries work like you'd expected?
I'm very happy with the pellet silo and screw feed, and the refilling goes just as smoothly as when I had oil.

| Sture and Marita live with their three children in a functional two-storey house built in 1937. The living area is 120 m2. Three years ago they changed their oil burner for a pellet burner. The total cost for installation and the burner was SEK 28,000. Last summer Sture built an 8 m3 pellet silo in the corner of an outside veranda and laid a feed pipe out to the road for bulk deliveries. |

"Even heat around the clock"
Says Ola Axelsson, Borås

What's it like heating with pellets?
Unbelievably easy compared to using wood. Checking the burner is so quick and easy that I barely even think about it. I vacuum up the ash with an ash trap that does it both easily and without leaving any dust. Because I was used to handling wood, I chose a start package with a weekly silo. I order a pallet of 16 kg pellet sacks that I receive on the delivery day; they're left just outside the cellar entrance. Using pellets has given me a much cleaner and more comfortable cellar.
Is there any difference in heating comfort?
Oh yes, although I have a big accumulator tank, it was often cold on winter mornings with the wood-fired burner. Now the heating is much more even over the whole day.
Has your heating bill gone down?
Ah, well. I got the wood for free and now I have to pay for the pellets. But I don't mind paying for comfort and compared to oil and electricity, the operating costs are a lot lower. |

Ola lives with his wife in a two-storey house built in 1923 with a cellar and a total living area of 160 m2. There is a boiler room in the cellar with a combi-boiler for oil, wood and electricity. A few years ago Ola stopped using oil and went over to wood. Now he's installed a new pellet burner and uses a weekly silo that he fills up with 16 kg sacks of pellets.
